This past September, I was super excited to celebrate my birthday with a trio of awesome dolly friends in Minnesota. I had tickets to attend Dollinquency, and like Santa Claus I had my bag packed with birthday goodies for my pals.
And then something happened to my health. I woke up one morning and the world was spinning…and it wouldn’t stop. It was one of the worst things I’ve ever experienced. I had to rush to the doctor to get shots and medication to get the world right again, and it took quite a while to stop feeling like I was on an episode of Deadliest Catch.
That meant no trip to Minnesota, no doll show, and no birthday celebration with friends. To say I was down about it was an understatement. Money aside, there just aren’t enough opportunities in life to be able to set aside work and responsibility and hang with friends for a day. So I moped and ate ice cream. Until…
I realized that BlytheCon LA was happening that very same weekend. With no plane needed to catch, and feeling good enough to be upright for a few hours, I decided to put on my big girl pants and drive to Los Angeles for the show. I’m so glad that I did!
I “may” have made up for feeling sick by spending a lot of money. I’m glad at least that I didn’t have a Blythe Doll yet or I’d need to sell my car to pay my bills. LOL.
Anyway it was a wonderful time and I met lots of awesome people – THANK YOU to Blanca, Judith, Catherine, and everyone who made this Blythecon so special.
